1 to 2 green chili peppers, chopped (optional)
3 tablespoons of oil or ghee (clarified butter)
1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
1 teaspoon of coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon of garam masala
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder (optional)
Salt to taste
1/2 cup of heavy cream or fresh cream (optional)
2 tablespoons of fresh coriander leaves (cilantro), chopped for garnishing
2 tablespoons of cashews, chopped for garnishing (optional)
Instructions:
- Step 1
- In a pan with hot oil or ghee, add chopped onions. Cook them in a skillet until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and stir for a little period of time.
- Step 2
- Cook the mixture after adding tomato puree until the oil separates.
- Add the garam masala powder, cumin, coriander, red chili, turmeric, and cumin powders. Well combine, then heat for a minute.
- Step 3
- Stir in the cashews that have been soaked. Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool.
- Blend the mixture to a paste once it has cooled.
- Add the mixed mixture after heating the same pan once more. After one minute, add the paneer cubes.
- Step 4
- Add salt and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add fresh cream and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
